LO3 - Shooting

Definitions

Aperture: In optics an aperture is a hole which light travels through. The aperture determines how collimated the admitted rays are.

Shutter Speed: The length of time a camera's shutter is open when taking a photograph. The amount of light that reaches the film or image sensor is proportional to the exposure time.

ISO Setting: The camera’s ISO setting is its sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO, the more sensitive it is.

Aperture: The aperture is wide here as there is no direct sunlight
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is no continuous blur
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

I composed this image to use a leading line up the street into the sun, showing the shops on the street.

I composed this image with the intention of getting a shot of whole building showing the buildings architectural creativity, using rule of thirds I placed it in left and center squares and top half of the grid.

Aperture: The aperture is wide here as is no direct sunlight as it is covered by the buildings around me.
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is no continuous blur. It did not need a low or high one because the surroundings are all still.
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

When composing this image I took it from a certain angle to creative a vague leading line from the tree up the building.

Aperture: The aperture is narrower than the others as the sunlight that is direct is not to powerful and the final image has been exaggerated due to when i Photoshopped it.
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is little continuous blur.
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

When composing this image I used the leading lines of both buildings as they both curve up the street into the sun along with the general direction of the public.

Aperture: The aperture is wide as the sunlight is hidden and not visible in the photo.
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is no blur. The object is still and did not require the shutter speed to be changed.
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

When composing this image i used the rule of thirds to make sure that the vents are in both the left and right thirds of the picture having nothing in the center.

When I composed this image I used the rule of thirds to make sure that the vents are in both the left and right thirds of the picture having nothing in the center. Which also leads into a leading line from left to right through all the steel balls.

Aperture: The aperture is wide as the sunlight is not very bright or direct.
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is little continuous blur.
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

I used leading lines for the text as it placed diagonally which leads to the lam post, the image inside the text is also from the same type of angle.

Aperture: The aperture is wide as there is no sunlight. This has been Photoshopped so it is darker than the original image.
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is little continuous blur. It is a still image.
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

I used rule of thirds to place the women's face in the top half of the grid in the center.

I used leading lines to make sure there is a line leading diagonally up the building.

Aperture: The aperture is wide as there is little light. As this is heavily Photoshopped the lighting is artificial light created using dodge tool.
Shutter Speed: This had a high shutter speed as there is little continuous blur.
ISO Settings: The ISO is low been 100 meaning it would need a strong ray of light to alter the final image
Lens: I used a standard lens to not distort any images, and instead show places in there natural form.

I curved the buildings in this image to create a leading line where both buildings curve to create a line leading to the top right half of the image.
